Winter Carnival

LA - keep reading!
Students need to choose and finish a book to use for their reading response, these will be due the week after March Break.
Some students have not handed in their stories yet, these are late, please finish them up!

Math - keep practicing times / division facts.
We've started a unit on measurement and time, so encourage your child to read the time on analog clocks.

Winter Carnival is this week, and we've got some fun activities planned for each day.
Tuesday is Pink Shirt Day, and we'll have a special anti-bullying presentation.
Wednesday is PJ day (remember you're at school and will have to go outside!)
Thursday is Crazy Hair day
Friday is School Colours day (blue and white)

This Thursday will be our last day of skating, so we'd love for all students to be able to skate!

Please send in any last-minute coffee orders and money, we'll send the order in this week.

Coffee Orders

Please send in all coffee orders ASAP!  We need to see if we've made our minimum order so we can send it in.

Fresh Start!

Welcome!

This page will work with the regular homework books to help keep everyone in the loop for upcoming assignments, projects, quizzes etc, as well as school events.

Speaking of that, there is a "Girls' Night Out" happening February 19th (Wednesday).  The cost is $10, and this will be a fundraiser for the Care for KVMS committee.  Tickets will be on sale until Feb 13, and *must* be bought ahead of time.  More details to come, volunteers welcome (and needed!)  There will be an art lesson, dancing, manicures, pedicures, hair, makeup, skin care tips, a funny photo booth, and a cafe with a chocolate fountain!

Please check the homework book and initial the reading log each night.  Homework will mainly be finishing up work not completed in class, or practice for upcoming quizzes.  Students work at different paces, so some will have homework a few nights each week, while others will only have reading most of the time.

Students will be going snowshoeing for their next 2 phys ed classes.  Please make sure to pack outdoor clothing (ski pants, mittens, hats, etc.) as well as possibly a change of clothes in case anyone gets really wet!

LA - Students should read each night (including a bit on the weekends when possible!) and record in their homework logs.

Math - Please keep practicing those multplication facts up to 9x9, we are working toward knowing them quickly and automatically without having to figure them out each time.  That said, encourage students to use their strategies if they don't know the answer right away.
